HOUSING WOLKERSDORF

The space program was divided into two structures, which are connected by a two-storey crossbar. This division creates more attractive corner apartments that can be better lit than those oriented to one side. Corridors and staircases are naturally lit by skylights and void spaces, and each apartment also has a loggia or a terrace. Cantilevered balconies were avoided in order to keep the appearance of the building calm. Recesses in the attic create a relaxed effect so that the building fits in better with the surrounding buildings.

The ground floor is slightly set back in the area of the kindergarten, thereby affording protection from the sun and rain.

The main entrances of the residential buildings and the kindergarten are accessed from a common forecourt, which forms a communicative meeting point.
This forecourt leads to the kindergarten foyer in the transverse wing, which provides space for a communal area for the residents on the first floor.
