Penthouse R (Vienna 2012)

This loft conversion centres on an inner atrium. Three deliberately small sleeping areas for children have large double sliding doors and can be combined with the adjacent play area to form a spacious common room. This room also connects with the living room opposite it when the glass doors of the atrium are opened. Linking the private and public areas is the kitchen island with a glazed countertop: From here there is a 40 meter high view of southern Vienna. The living space is defined by space-structuring wall elements. Despite their room-divider function they pull the entire flat together.
