Competition Läengenfeldgasse (Vienna 2016)

The five-storey L-shaped structure is clearly divided into an organically shaped two-storey base zone and a simple three-storey cubic main building. This cube takes up the lines of the adjoining buildings, while the free form freely embeds itself in the green of its surroundings. The main entrance to the quiet Steinbauergasse directly refers to the entrance to the park opposite and thus acts as a link to the NMS as an extension of the campus concept..Clear readability of the functions supports the students' identification with their school. The BS is visible on the upper floors. This is optimally aligned with a view to the south and to the park. The BS is accessible via the internal path of the vocational school campus to the north. The soft free form of the VS takes up a human scale for the elementary school children. The inner courtyard refers to the educational concept cluster, whose MuFus, which are all oriented in the inner courtyard. This has a communication-promoting effect and invites you to play with the ring-shaped access. The interlacing of interior and exterior creates interesting spatial qualities.
